The Story so far
Truly French, and Parisians at heart, Danielle and Chloé Le Bonnois, mother and daughter, are passionate about travelling and textile. They have been creating a collection of rich unique textiles since their first trip to India in 1998 – when they fell in love with the country and all its facets: the rich traditions that go back thousands of years, the people and their remarkable heritage of craftsmanship.
Nana Ki began with a small, beautifully decorated, pink boutique in the famous Parisian neighborhood of Saint Germain des Prés. Bringing to Paris a select range of traditional Indian products with a contemporary edge, Nana ki soon became wildly popular.
In 2006 Danielle and Chloe opened “Lola’s World”, the very first mother and children concept store in New Delhi, in the heart of effervescent Hauz Khas Village, which established itself pretty quickly in Delhi’s retail scenery. The boutique presented a wide selection of garments, accessories, jewels, home textiles and other wonders. Definitely modern and urban, their creations are infused with references to Indian rich textile tradition, making it a must visit for all fashionistas and tourists in town.
In 2009 the Parisian duo sets out on another challenge to open a new space. The concept was to create a new frame for Nana Ki’s universe… but with the feet in the sand! And in December, “The Shop by Nana Ki” in Goa was launched. Delighted clients discovered the beach-y side to Nana Ki, with sophisticated collections created of light natural fabrics in loose fits presented under the magical roof of a Maharaja tent.
In 2014, Danielle and Chloe open yet another frame for their brand, “Beach House”. There they finally offer a generous space to the home collections of Danielle, now under the new born label “The BO.HE.MI.AN Project”, that focuses on craftsmanship and exceptional materials like khadi cotton and other hand-made cloth, hand work embroideries or prints.
In 2015 the mother and daughter duo decides to sail for new shores and to widen the Nana Ki retail family. Their plan: open new beach boutiques in India and across oceans, with places like Ibiza and Buzios in their target. In June they even take the heart breaking decision to close the doors of their Delhi flagship store to focus on this new exciting challenge.
